2nd Classified Grand Cru
Decanter 99
A first-gross wine. With aristocratic ease, he expresses a lively energy and a subtle sensuality. A pencil mine, white tobacco, blackcurrant, juicy blackberry and cherry, beautifully defined, with refined tannins offering an impressive structure for a long ageing. The pH is the highest since 2003, but there is no heat or imbalance. An impressive dry extract and a rather "normal" alcohol content of 13.5% give a resolutely classic feel, leading to a subtle but extremely long finish. For owner Michel Reybier, the vintage marks 20 years of "passion at the helm." Presented in a bottle engraved with a unique gold color, bearing the phrase "It was Cos or nothing"
James Suckling 98
A dark and deep wine just on the nose, with notes of blackcurrant, gooseberry, spices like cardamom and nutmeg, as well as black truffle and earth. Complex. Full-bodied, with fine but chewy tannins, beautifully intertwined. Very structured and long. It takes five to six years to settle down. 62% Cabernet and 38% Merlot.
Jancis Robinson 18/20
62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot. Special (heavy) bottle engraved to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the property by Michel Reybier. Deep purple-black color. Deep wine with a mass of fruit and tannins. It has little expression at the moment. Wide and loose in the mouth, then tightens towards a long and persistent finish. Powerful but contained.
