Baron Philippe de Rothschild
5th Grand Cru Classified
Robert Parker 90
The Mouton Baronne Philippe 1986 was the former name of the Château d'Armailhac, which adopted its current name in 1989.
It presents a very fresh and lively bouquet, more vital and precise than the Clerc-Milon 1986. It is a real surprise: raised blackberries, embellished with tar and cedar. The mouth is moderately full-bodied with firm tannins reminiscent of the Mouton-Rothschild 1986.
Of course, he does not have the same level of complexity, but he can be considered a younger brother, which is not surprising since the terroir is at the end of Mouton-Rothschild.
