The terroir of the Pauillac appellation is located north of Bordeaux, on the Gironde estuary. The terroir here is exceptional, moreover the appellation has 3 of the 5 Premiers Grands Crus Classés in 1855: Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Latour.
Composed mainly of the Cabernet-Sauvignon grape blended with Merlot, the wines of Pauillac are powerful, deep and extremely refined. The mouth is full-bodied, rich, underlined by a frame of tight and full-bodied tannins. Pauillac wines are cut to keep, their aging potential is exceptional. The appellation has mainly prestigious Grands Crus Classés - 18 in total!
